Dear Residents:
The Board of Selectmen want to take this opportunity to inform you of several important happenings in town during the coming weeks.

Spring has finally sprung!

As of April 1st, the Transfer Station is now open every Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.  There is a check only policy.  No cash or credit cards are accepted at the station.  Brush and compostable materials can be dropped off for free.

The various waterlines at Stratham Hill Park are being replaced.  Construction is underway and it is anticipated that it will not be completed until June 1st.  There will be no water and no toilets  available until the project is completed.  A limited number of port-a-potties will be on site.

Position Available:
Stratham Parks and Recreation Department seeks a Part Time Seasonal Park Assistant for Stratham Hill Park for the months April through October.  Actual hours may vary. The applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Park Ranger. Duties include mowing, general repairs, cleaning and maintaining outdoor and indoor areas, some painting, wood work and cleaning bathrooms. This position can be physically demanding. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and must be at least 18 years old. Individuals must be able to use a commercial mower, a large tractor, chain saw, grass trimmer and operate a one ton pick-up truck.  Applicants must be willing and able to work in a variety of weather conditions. Professional landscaping experience will be helpful. Upcoming Events/Activities:

Drug Take Back Day - Turn in your unused or expired prescriptions for safe disposal at the Stratham Police Department on Saturday, April 29th, from 10:00am until 2:00pm.

The Chief Michael Maloney Road Race will be held on Sunday, April 30th.  The race is a 6.2 mile run from the Town Hall in Stratham to the Greenland Police Department.  The number of participants in this road race is estimated at approximately 1,500.  The runners will be traveling from Market Street, down Bunker Hill Avenue, turning left onto Russell Drive and then coming up Spruce Lane, back onto Bunker Hill Avenue, and left onto Union Road to the Greenland town line.  Since the race start time is at 11:00am, we anticipate the runners going through those neighborhoods from approximately 11:05 until 11:20.  There will be police details at all major intersections to assist with the flow of traffic during the race.

The Annual Road Side Clean Up Day is Saturday, May 6th.  We will gather at the Front Pavilion at Stratham Hill Park at 9:00 am to get instructions, trash bags, gloves and safety vests. The Stratham Conservation Commission will provide coffee, cocoa and a morning snack. All who participate are invited to lunch at the pavilion at noon and will receive a special treat from Lindt Chocolate.

On May 10th, Stratham Memorial School will be holding their wellness walk at 1:30pm.  A portion of Gifford Farm Road will be closed briefly during that time.
