Voter Registration

You need to be at least 18 years of age, a US citizen, and a resident of the Town of Stratham, NH to vote in Stratham elections for local officials/issues, and state and federal elections. Registration can be done at the Town Clerk's Office (Stratham Municipal Center) during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Additional Supervisors of the Checklist registration sessions will be held periodically prior to elections. These dates will be posted at the Municipal Center, and on the Town website. You may also register to vote at any election on election day (excluding town meeting and school deliberative sessions). Also, for the upcoming elections in 2020, due to the COVID 19, you can request a mail-in packet to register to vote by mail.

When you come to register, you will be asked to provide proof of age, proof of citizenship, and proof of residency. You will also be asked to provide a photo ID that proves your identity. In most cases, a current, valid NH driver's license with a Stratham street address will suffice for id and residency. For proof of Citizenship, a birth certificate or US passport will suffice.   If you were not born in the United States, you will also be asked to provide naturalization papers or a US passport for proof of citizenship. If you are unable to provide any of the above documents, we have affidavits that you may sign for proof of age, proof of citizenship, and proof of i.d.  under penalty of perjury, that the information you are providing to us is true and accurate.
