THANK YOU: AGE FRIENDLY PUBLIC FORUMS & SURVEY RESULTS
On Wednesday, May 25th, two Age Friendly public forums were held; thank you to all who attended.  Input from these public sessions and all the data collected from the Age Friendly survey results will be compiled into a comprehensive age friendly assessment for the town to use to inform its future planning efforts and decision-making.  In Year 2 of the Age Friendly program, the Rockingham Planning Commission will look to help communities implement one or more projects that come out of the assessments.  Click here to view the presentation.

IMAGINE STRATHAM!
SUNDAY, JUNE 5 from 2:00—4:00 PM Wiggin Memorial Library

Do you love living in Stratham?

Join friends and neighbors to celebrate what makes Stratham special and explore how we could make life in Stratham even better in a changing world.  It's happening THIS Sunday, June 5, from 2 - 4PM in the library meeting room!  Listen to others speak about what matters to them.  Connect with neighbors and friends!  And, have some ice cream... Did we mention there'll be Hodgie's ice cream??!!

These "Imagine Stratham" conversations are designed to foster genuine conversation among community members. This project is funded by the Institute for Museum and Library Services’ “Grants to States” program. The grant program is part of the American Rescue Act Plan of 2021 and is being facilitated by the N.H. State Library.

REMEMBER STRATHAM FARMS
It's that time of year when the warm weather and sunshine turn our thoughts to fresh fruits, vegetables and beautiful flowers!  Stratham is fortunate to have many farms that sell fresh produce and seedlings.  By eating local you are getting the freshest fruits and vegetables and are eliminating the need for long-distance transportation of produce.  If you are making preparations to grow your own garden, many of Stratham's farms sell plants and other essential gardening items.  Please support Stratham farms!  Follow this link to see a list of Stratham farms.

FROM THE 4-H CLUB - PLANT A ROW PROGRAM
During the pandemic and beyond, more Granite staters are facing food insecurity.  Most significantly, access to fresh and healthy, local produce.  Plant A Row is a neighbors-helping-neighbors initiative, organized through 4-H and UNH Cooperative Extension in Rockingham and Strafford County.  The idea behind this initiative is simple: Planting an extra row in your garden bed or an extra container and donating the produce from it to a participating food pantry will directly benefit local food pantries and their patrons to offer more fresh and local produce and healthier choices.  Everyone can be a food access champion!

More information about the program and how to register can be found here.  We're on Facebook too!

SENIOR CALENDAR
What's going on in the Senior Room this month and next?  Check out the June and July calendars for upcoming activities and plan to attend!

TAKE PART IN THE STRATHAM 76 ERS UKULELE CHALLENGE
Ukulele lessons will be offered to seniors - but 10 ukuleles are needed for aspiring ukulele strummers.

If your household has a used ukulele in the attic or basement, please consider donating it for use by a Stratham 76er.  We will restring the instrument and make beautiful music.  We will plan a concert for all to attend in the fall.  If you would like a lend - leased arrangement, the ukulele's will be restrung and returned to you at the end of the lessons.

Donated ukuleles will become the property of the Stratham Parks and Recreation Department.  Bring the ukulele to the Parks and Recreation Department at the Stratham Municipal Center. Thank you for reading this challenge and providing seniors an opportunity to stimulate the right side of their brains.

STRATHAM SUMMER FEST - SATURDAY, JULY 16 - 9AM TO 6PM
