SOLID WASTE ORDINANCE UPDATE
The Select Board is in the process of updating and revising our current Solid Waste Ordinance.  Stay tuned for an upcoming public hearing at the November 1st Select Board meeting.  The changes are intended to:

  • Streamline access to the Transfer Station for residents who live here but drive vehicles registered elsewhere;
  • Increase the ability of the town to respond to market changes for disposal costs by removing the fee schedule from the ordinance; and
  • Close the gap in what overall taxpayers subsidize for transfer station activities by moving to an annual transfer station sticker (from bi-annual).

If you have any comments on these proposed changes, we welcome hearing from you.  For more information, please see page 28 of this Select Board packet
