CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day event on Saturday October 16. Pre-registration, pre-payment and surveying have greatly reduced the interaction which volunteers will have with participants. The primary need for volunteers is to direct traffic, answer questions and if the event is not sold out, direct people to the online registration.  If you are available to help and can spare a couple of hours, please sign-up!

HISTORICAL SOCIETY APPRAISAL DAY
Stratham's "Antiques Road Show" will be held on Sunday, October 17 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the Morgera Room at the Stratham Fire Station.  Come find out what your family heirlooms and treasures are worth!  For more information, click here

WEST NILE VIRUS DETECTION
The State Lab in Concord recently confirmed that a batch of mosquitoes collected in the region, including Stratham, has tested positive for West Nile Virus.  Click to read the full press release from the Town's Mosquito Control Contractor, Dragon Mosquito.  In accordance with our 2021 Mosquito Control policy, you will see crews completing spraying in Stratham in the coming days.  Continue taking steps to prevent being bitten by mosquitoes and remove standing water on your property.

TRANSPORTATION SURVEY REGARDING THE STATE TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS IN STRATHAM
Approximately 300 people have completed the Planning Board’s Transportation Survey, which asks for residents’ input related to transportation needs and priorities in Stratham. Staff and the Select Board plan to utilize this input in advocating for Town projects at the upcoming Governor’s Advisory Council on Intermodal Transportation (GACIT) hearings.  If you are interested in assisting with this advocacy, please e-mail planning@strathamnh.gov or attend an upcoming GACIT hearing.

The Planning Board is very appreciative of residents thoughtful input. The feedback will help the Town prioritize transportation priorities, including for the upcoming NHDOT Ten Year Plan hearings. If you haven’t yet completed the survey, you can take it at: https://tinyurl.com/StrathamMoves.

TRAIL WORK DAYS SPONSORED BY TRAIL MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Trail Management Advisory Committee (TMAC) is planning to host two trail workdays this fall at Stratham Hill Park, October 24th and November 6th.  The Committee felt it was in the best interest of community engagement to host a trail work day based on the level of volunteer interest expressed by those participating in their recent survey.

Workday Scope and Highlights:

  • The basic scope is for a surface treatment in the betterment of the trail bed in certain areas within the Town Forest.
  • Snacks and drinks for volunteers.
  • Tools will be provided by the Town of Stratham and volunteers.
  • Volunteers will be encouraged to register in advance.

TMAC members are eager to meet and work alongside the trail users that attend these workdays!  We look forward to seeing you at one or possibly both of these workdays. To register for this event, please click here.
