Postponement of Town of Stratham Town Meeting

In accordance with his duties under NH State RSA 40:4,II (a), the Town Moderator has postponed the Stratham Town Meeting business session scheduled for March 13, 2020.  This decision follows consultation with, or review of guidance from, the Town’s Select Board, Administration, emergency management officials, State agencies and other public officials involved in COVID-19 and the community response.  Important factors influencing this decision have included assessments of risk to vulnerable populations, recent updates on the public health threats in the region, and recommendations from voices of credentialed medical and public health professionals, which informed new restrictions on the use of regional school facilities - including our Town Meeting site.

The Town Meeting has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at the Stratham Memorial School 39 Gifford Farm Road.  Identifying a time, date, and place certain at time of postponement is a requirement in the law.

The Moderator and Board are mindful the rescheduled date and time may present the same, similar or worse conditions related to the current pandemic.  This situation will be monitored on an ongoing basis leading up to the rescheduled date.

Members of the public are encouraged to monitor developments related to the outbreak via the State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services resource page as well as CDC resources.
