Open House “Drop-ins” Scheduled on TIF District Proposal
Following outreach events in October and February, the Board will be sponsoring a series of informal open-house style “drop-in” times for any resident who would like to come to the Town Offices with their questions about the TIF proposal between now and Town Meeting.  Previous outreach efforts have taken place in the evening, this schedule adds some availability during daytimes.  Note, the Library Voter Information Night will held in the evening of Tuesday March 3, 2020 (where the TIF proposal will also be discussed).

The format is simple: come to the Town Offices to “drop-in” with your questions or simply for an introduction to the TIF proposal.  A Board member and a member of the Town staff will be available at the following dates and times in the Hutton Conference Room at the Municipal Center, all are welcome.

  • Tuesday February 25, 2020 between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m.
  • Friday February 28, 2020 between 2:00 and 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday March 3, 2020 between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. (Library Info Session is at 7:00 p.m.)
  • Friday March 6, 2020 between 2:00 and 3:30 p.m.

TIF Frequently Asked Questions Document Available
The Select Board has prepared a Frequently Asked Questions document as a resource for the community in preparing for the TIF votes at Town Meeting.  Some of the questions addressed include the following: Why is the Town seeking to shape the development of the 108 Corridor/Gateway Zone? What is a TIF? What is proposed to happen at Town Meeting? Why would we adopt this tool now without approving funds? What would happen next if TIF is adopted?

Please access the document here and share it and visit the Town’s Gateway Implementation website for more information.

Reminder – Public Hearing on TIF Proposal this Thursday February 20th

Thanks again to all of those who have been participating in the outreach efforts associated with realizing the vision for the redevelopment of the 108 Corridor.  One procedural requirement for TIF plan adoption is the holding a separate public hearing on the TIF Development Program and Financing Plan, which will take place on February 20, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hutton Room at the Town Offices.
