Dear Stratham Residents,

Stratham has now joined the communities which are experiencing a severe drought.  Stratham is urging water conservation and is advancing its lawn watering restrictions in accordance with RSA 41:11d.  At this time, the Town is moving to Level 2 lawn watering restrictions.

A Level 2 drought restriction will be in place effective Saturday, August 13.

A Level 2 restriction means:

  • Lawn watering by odd numbered addresses is allowed on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Lawn watering by even numbered addresses is allowed on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Lawn watering shall not occur between the hours of 8AM and 7PM.

Until further notice, lawn watering will be limited as part of a statewide strategy for preserving groundwater supplies that serve as critical resources for Stratham households and businesses.  All efforts to curb and reduce use of water during this time will benefit water supplies we all rely on.  Residents should be aware, the Board may advance to additional restriction levels as drought conditions persist or worsen.

A required posting notifying the community was published in the Portsmouth Herald on Tuesday, August 9th.  In addition to this newsletter, the message regarding the restrictions will be posted on the Town’s message boards in multiple locations as well as the Town’s website and Facebook pages.

Residents with questions regarding the restrictions, are asked to visit the Town’s resource page related to the drought.  Questions can also be directed to the Town Administrator’s Office (603) 772-7391 ext. 187.
