Community Connection & Involvement Session

On Wednesday, May 8nd from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm we welcome Drew Olick, RN and Program Director of Quality Incentives and Community Integration, at Core Physicians in Exeter, NH. Drew will faciliate a discusion around the Seacoast community and how neighbors can help neighbors. We all feel a greater sense of good when we can give back and participate in activities that bring connectedness and wellness to others. Drew will discuss ways they have begun community integration at Core Physicians and provide a forum for brainstorming on how Stratham community members may be able to assist one another in times of need.

Downton Abbey Afternoon Tea & Etiquette

You are cordially invited to join us for afternoon tea in the Senior Gathering Room on May 9th from 1pm-3pm for Downton Abbey Tea & Manners. Lynda Simmons, Tea and Etiquette Consultant, will review dining etiquette and life in the in the Edwardian era at Downton Abbey. We will be serving cucumber sandwiches, sweet treats, scones and of course tea! We encourage you break our you dapper hat and gloves if you so so choose!!!

Seniority Authority Podcast Discussion Group

Join us on May 16th, from 2pm-3:30pm at the Wiggin Memorial Library in the library's Meeting Room, for the inaugural Seniority Authority Discussion Group. We will view a 45-minute episode of the award-winning Seniority Authority podcast, then discuss what we learned. Our first episode will feature Harvard Professor Dr. Robert Waldinger and his book The Good Life. Find out how fun, smart, and fascinating it can be to do new things as we age. This event is presented in collaboration with the Wiggin Memorial Library.

Needle Felting Series - Day and Evening Classes

When: May 10th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm (evening) & May 17th from 11:30am-2:30pm Where: Meeting Room A, Stratham Municipal Center

Unleash your inner artist with our monthly needle-felting classes! Needle felting is a simple technique that lets you craft stunning artwork using special barbed needles. Starting from the basics, you'll soon be creating your own beautiful pieces to decorate your space.

No worries if you're a beginner; this class is tailored for you! Patricia Gardner from Birch Haven Design will guide you every step of the way. Grab your bestie and join us for a fun and creative experience. Don't miss this chance to learn a relaxing craft and create something truly special! $60.00 per class. Registration required.


Wet Felted Flowers - Day and Evening Classes

When: May 24th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm(evening) & May 31st(day) from 11:30am-2:30pm

Where: Meeting Room A, Stratham Municipal Center

Patricia Gardner from Birch Haven Designs is excited to offer a new class this month!!! Join her and learn the art of wet felting. In this class you will discover how to craft your own wet felted fanciful flowers. Wet felting is a fascinating technique that transforms wool and other animal fibers into felt by adding warm soapy water to layers of fleece. These layers hook together, condensing into a single piece of fabric.

$65.00 per class. Registration required.


Zumba Class

Stratham Parks & Rec is excited to now offer ZUMBA! This popular dance fitness program merges Latin and international music with simple dance routines, offering a fun way to stay fit. Each Zumba class aims to unite people in a calorie-burning dance fitness celebration. With influences from salsa, samba, merengue, reggaetón, and hip-hop, the choreography is beginner-friendly and suitable for all levels of experience. Zumba delivers a comprehensive workout that covers cardio, muscle conditioning, balance, and flexibility. After each class, you'll feel fantastic and energized.

When & Where: Wednesday’s in May from 4pm-5pm at the Stratham Municipal Center in Meeting Room A.

Cost: $35.00 for 5 classes. Regitration Required.


Monthly Munch & Learn Series

Come and join us on Wednesday, May 15th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Senior Gathering Room at the Stratham Municipal Center. Enjoy a light lunch and a captivating history presentation. Dive into the next session of our history series presented by our resident history enthusiast, Murph Henderson. Best of all, this series is completely FREE! Lunch will be provided by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Balance and Fall Prevention Program

Join the Ability Allies Physical Therapy team for a specialized program designed to improve your balance, enhance your walking abilities, increase endurance and reduce your risk of falls this winter.

Classes begin April 29th and will be held every Tuesday from 12:55pm-1:45pm for 6 weeks at the Stratham Municipal Center. (Please review the schedule carefully as it does vary slightly) Each class will vary with tailored exercises and strategic techniques focused on building stability, postural awareness, addressing muscular weaknesses impacting your function, and gain confidence in your overall body and balance capabilities.

Cost: $35.00 per 6 week session. Registration Required.


Intro to Salsa Dancing

Presented by Salsa Secrets from Portsmouth, NH.

When & Where: Monday, May 6th & May 20, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at the Stratham Municipal Center, Meeting Room A.

The Intro to Salsa Dancing sessions are tailored for absolute beginners looking to explore salsa. This session focuses on fundamental footwork in a relaxed setting within the 60-minute timeframe. You will enjoy learning the basics, moving your body, and experiencing our teaching style to understand the potential of learning salsa.

Registration required. $12.00 per class.


Crafty Cards: Learn to Make Your Own Cards

On May 28th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, join skilled card creators Robin Lynch and Mary Jo McCauley in mastering the art of crafting and designing personalized cards for occasions like Mother’s Day, spring, birthdays, and more from scratch.

Cards for Kindness® is a charitable organization that distributes handmade cards to various establishments such as cancer foundations, hospitals, shelters, retirement homes, children's homes, and first responders. This initiative aims to bring joy, smiles, and support to those in need of a heartfelt gesture.

Registration Required. $12.00 per person, all supplies will be provided.


Mah Jong Mondays

MahJong on Mondays from 1pm to 3pm beginning March 4th. This will be a relaxing, fun afternoon as we explore Mahjong. 

Maximum of 8 players


Learn to Play Bridge

When: Friday afternoons from 2:00pm-4:00PM. Starts on Friday February 16th. This is a 10-week series.

Where: Senior Gathering Room at the Stratham Municipal Center

This program is FREE!!! Registration Required.

“2-over-1 GAME FORCE” Want to brush up on your Bridge skills? Join Joe Watts, seasoned Bridge player to learn and play duplicate bridge. A basic knowledge of Bridge is required. I.e., previous experience with “Party Bridge” or Bridge according to Goren. Also intermediate players who would like to learn two over one are welcome. All supplies and lesson handouts will be provided.

Bridge is an excellent “brain” game with both strategy and social interaction being key. Don’t be intimidated, this will be a no pressure friendly atmosphere experience.
