The Stratham Highway Department provides essential services to the residents of Stratham in a prompt, courteous, safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The Highway Department, through its dedicated employees, strives to plan, design, build, maintain, and operate public infrastructure in a manner that respects the environment and the ability of government to adequately preserve these assets for succeeding generations.
The Highway Department maintains over 50 miles of paved roadway. Maintenance responsibilities include the repair and upkeep of all Town roads and streets, street signs, sidewalks, cemeteries, all surface and subsurface drainage systems, winter maintenance (snow removal, salting and sanding) to provide for safe vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
The Highway Department also provides a wide range of construction and maintenance services, including carpentry and masonry, to every department of the Town.
