Roadside Mowing Announcement
From July 29 through August 9, the Stratham Public Works crew will be performing roadside mowing. To maximize the efficiency of the 2 week-long equipment rental, the crew will operate over two shifts. The equipment will be operational from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Attention will be focused on clearing overhead and understory vegetation along main thoroughfares. After the rental period, DPW staff will prune specific vegetation encroaching the right of way by hand.
Meet Peter Nunes Jr. at the Stratham Transfer Station!
We are excited to introduce Peter Nunes Jr., our new team member working Saturdays at the Stratham Transfer Station. Peter comes to us with a robust background in sales and brings a high level of enthusiasm to his role. Since joining, he has quickly become a huge asset to our DPW crew. Be sure to say hello to Peter next time you visit the transfer station!
Fire Pond Hydrant Work Completed
We are pleased to announce the completion of the retaining wall and railing work around the fire hydrant at the Gifford Farm Fire Pond. This important project was undertaken by some of our newer DPW crew members. The new structure provides a stable and safe place for firefighters to hook up their hoses to the pump and will help prevent erosion into the pond. This enhancement ensures better safety and functionality for our fire safety operations. We have also fixed and tested the hydrant at the fire pond at the Stratham Circle.
DPW Crew Prepares for Summerfest on July 20th

Stratham is one of several communities in NH required to take action to reduce stormwater pollution. This effort is enforced by the US EPA under Stratham’s Municipal Separate Sewer and Stormwater System (MS4) Permit. One requirement of the MS4 Permit is that the Town perform outreach to dog owners on the proper disposal of dog waste. Click here to see our Dog Waste Brochure. The Town Ordinance, Regulation of Dogs Chapter 1-14, requires expeditious removal of any dog excrement in public places or on the property of another person. Learn more about Stratham’s MS4 Permit on the Town’s webpage at Stormwater and Stratham's MS4 Permit | Town of Stratham NH or contact the Planning Department at 603-772-7391 ext. 184.
