Tee Ball takes place on Saturday mornings from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Stratham Hill Park's Lower and Upper baseball fields. The session is divided into two parts: the first 45 minutes focus on individual skills and baseball fundamentals, while the remaining 45 minutes is dedicated to structured game play with coaches continuing to provide guidance during the game. The program runs from April 18th through June 13th (no programs over Memorial Day weekend).
This program helps kids transition from Tee Ball to baseball, offering an instructional, and semi-competitive environment for players in 1st and 2nd grade. The focus is on developing fundamental skills and fostering a love for the game. Players will bat (coach-pitched) and play in the field every inning, with team sizes structured for maximum participation. This season there will be two opportunities a week for Rookies to participate in baseball. The time commitment includes one team practice per week (Monday-Thursday evenings, 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM) and one game per week on Saturday mornings between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Stratham Hill Park. A third, and optional, weekly skills & fun session may be open one evening a week to all Stratham Rookies subject to player interest.

*ONE MID-WEEK PRACTICE AND SATURDAY MORNING GAMES*
Practice sessions are typically 50-60 minutes, while games are 50-80 minutes long. The Rookie League emphasizes skill development and player confidence. The program runs from April 11th through June 13th (no games over Memorial Day weekend). There may be April skills clinics opportunities depending on weather and gym availability. Rookie teams will play exclusively against Stratham teams for a greater focus on development and fun!
At the Minor League level, players will continue to build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to learn game strategy. This is the first level where players experience live pitching from fellow players, with the pitcher’s mound set at 46 feet from home plate and base paths at 60 feet.

Teams will typically play two games per week plus a practice on Friday evenings or Saturdays afternoons. Minor teams will play games on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The league includes a season ending tournament.
Pre-season activities and practices begin in March (indoors), with the regular season starting mid-April (weather permitting) and running through the second weekend in June. *No program over Memorial Day Weekend* Inter-town play may require travel to Epping and Newmarket.
*Evaluations will be held at CMS the week of March 2nd. Date/time TBD *
This is the most experienced level of Cal Ripken Baseball. Cal Ripken Baseball is played under the Official Baseball Rules, with special rules as necessary for the development and welfare of this young age group. The game is played on a 70-foot diamond, providing players with an opportunity to further develop their skills. Pitcher selection is at the coach’s discretion, meaning not all players will pitch.

This division is designed for older players, placing a stronger emphasis on competition. Players will have the opportunity to participate in every game, but playing time is earned based on performance and team contribution. At this level, players are introduced to the regulation 90-foot baseball field. Babe Ruth includes 13-15-year-olds (typically 7th-9th grade), and Sr. Babe Ruth (10th-12th graders). Team placement is based primarily on grade level, though skill level and other factors may also play a role. The Stratham Baseball Committee will make decisions on issues such as swing player placement. This program is intended to accommodate players who are also involved with school baseball teams and Babe Ruth Baseball, and it is encouraged that players participate in both. Practices will begin in early May, and games will run through the end of June. Practice times will be determined by the coach, and game schedules will be announced once teams are selected. Tryouts may be held depending on the number of participants.
PLEASE SIGN UP TO COACH WHEN YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD TO PLAY. No prior baseball experience is necessary—just a desire to spend quality time with your child and support their development. It’s always a better experience for the children to have more parent involvement, whether it’s helping younger players with batting order, playing catch, or participating on a higher level. All volunteer coaches will participate in a clinic and a mandatory background screening. The clinic will cover coaching fundamentals, philosophy, and guidance on running practices and games. When registering your child, please consider signing up to be part of a coaching team.
