New this year!!! Stratham Softball will be partnering with Exeter Jr Baseball & Softball League (EJBSL) to improve the experience for our kids!
At the 6u and 8u levels, teams will be formed with Stratham kids only and we will play other seacoast towns both in Stratham and other surrounding towns. At these ages, Stratham Parks & Recreation will facilitate registration via stratham.recdesk.com.
At the 10u & 12u level, Stratham will participate and combine with other towns in the league to form even teams. This is done with both an emphasis on keeping friends together as much as possible, while also ensuring an even playing field. Please register via the EJBSL website at www.ejbsl.org.
The 6U softball program is designed to introduce young girls to the fundamentals of softball in a fun and supportive environment. The primary goal is to build confidence and a love for the game. Teams will be formed of Stratham kids only (with a few expectations). The program takes place on Saturday mornings. Sessions are ninety minutes in length and are divided into two parts: the first 45 minutes focus on individual skills and softball fundamentals, while the remaining 45 minutes are dedicated to structured game play, with coaches continuing to provide guidance during the game. The program runs from May 10th through June 14th (with no games over Memorial Day weekend). The season will end with a league wide jamboree. Some travel to seacoast towns may be necessary.

The 8U Softball program is designed for girls aged 7-8, focusing on introducing them to the fundamentals of softball in a fun and supportive environment. Players learn basic skills like throwing, catching, hitting, and fielding, while developing teamwork and sportsmanship. The program emphasizes player development over competition, with an emphasis on participation and enjoyment. Players will hit via a coach operated pitching machine at a slow, coaches pitch, like speed.
Teams will practice once a week, plus have an additional game either mid-week or on Saturdays. The season runs from after April vacation to the end of the school year. The season will end with a league wide jamboree.
Schedule TBD. Some travel to seacoast towns is expected.

For 10u and 12u divisions, Stratham will participate and combine with other towns in SAU 16 to form even teams. This is done with both an emphasis on keeping friends together as much as possible, while also ensuring an even playing field. The season runs from after April vacation to the end of the school year. Practices and game locations are TBD. Local travel will be necessary for both practice and games throughout the season.

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS: COACHES NEEDED!
PLEASE SIGN UP TO COACH WHEN YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD TO PLAY. We will provide instruction. There will be training for all volunteer coaches and a mandatory background screening. This training will focus on coaching fundamentals and philosophy as well as provide guidance for creating and running practices and games.
