The Assessing Department of the town of Stratham is currently out and about in town!
We are currently out in the field getting a head start on our data collection for 2027. During any weekday we may be out to various properties to confirm property data and to check on the status of permits/ construction. We’d like to clarify what our procedures are for ease of mind when they are on your property:
Any data collector who comes to your home will have an identification badge, the property record card for your property, and their car will have identifying magnets. Our policy is to knock first then wait for a response. If we do not get a response, we will measure the property to confirm data, but we will never go beyond closed gates/fences. If there is a response, our data collectors will introduce themselves and state their reason for being at the property. Part of the process is to confirm interior information, and the data collector will ask questions about the inside however, it is not a requirement to allow a data collector/assessor access to the inside of your home.
Any information we cannot obtain from the exterior we will estimate from the best of our ability from the outside. We are gathering this data for the 2027 tax year, to make sure your property is being assessed fairly and accurately.
If you have more questions about what we do or would like to schedule an appointment for a full inspection, please feel free to call the Assessing Department office at: 603-772-7391 x144 or x141
