Election Filing Period Approaching

As the March election draws near, the candidate filing period will be open Wednesday, January 21 (the seventh Wednesday before the town election) through Friday, January 30, these dates reflect how New Hampshire RSA 669:19 calculates the filing window for declarations of candidacy for town elections held in March.  The filing period is defined based on the town election date and applies in towns using the non-partisan official ballot system. The following positions are up for election or re-election this cycle:



For the Town:

Select Board Member – (1) position, 3-year term

Town Clerk – (1) position, 3-year term

Supervisors of the Checklist – (1) position, 6-year term

Trustees of the Trust Funds – (1) position, 3-year term

Library Trustee – (1) position, 3-year term
Library Trustee – (1) position, 1-year term
Cemetery Trustee – (1) position, 3-year term

For SMS:

School Board Members- (2) positions, 3-year term

School Board Member- (1) position, 1-year term

School District Clerk- (1) position, 1-year term

Those interested in filing for the Town OR SMS elected positions may do so with the Stratham Town Clerk, Deborah Bakie at the

Stratham Municipal Center, 10 Bunker Hill Ave during the following hours:

Monday: 8:30 am - 7:00 pm
Tuesday-Thursday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am - 12:30 pm

Friday, January 30, 2026 (only)

8:00 am - 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
