THANK YOU FOR MAKING SUMMERFEST A SUCCESS!

The Select Board extends heartfelt thanks to the incredible organizers of Summerfest, including Chair John Cushing, Parks & Recreation Director Seth Hickey, the Park Association, Stratham DPW, town staff, and many volunteers who poured their time, energy, and talent into making this year’s Summerfest a truly memorable celebration.  And to our wonderful community—we couldn’t have done it without you!  Your enthusiasm and presence turned the event into something special.  A big congratulations to the Fire Dept. for winning the annual First Responders Softball Game with a score of 7-4!  We’re looking forward to next year’s festivities. Stay tuned!  Check out the pictures below.

ELECTRIC RATES INCREASE

Starting August 1, most residents will see increases in the electricity rates.  The default electric supplier for Stratham is the Community Power Coalition of NH (CPCNH), a nonprofit Joint Powers Agency operating to lower energy costs through competition and innovation.  This appears as “Stratham Community Power” on participating customer bills.

Stratham saw lower electric rates in the first year of membership relative to the utility basic service, but the Unitil energy supply rate was lower than CPCNH on 2/1/2025, and will be lower than CPCNH again for a period of 8/1/2025 - 1/31/2026.  The August 1 Unitil rate will be $0.118 / kWh vs. CPCNH @ $0.137 / kWh.

Any resident or business can remain with CPCNH, return to Unitil for electric service, or contract with a qualified third party.  You can opt out of their Community Power program without fee or cost, by calling 1-866-603-POWR.  Have your Unitil Account Number on hand.  Click here for the Energy Aggregation Committee webpage

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT!

We're looking for a dedicated full member and an alternate to serve on our all-volunteer Zoning Board of Adjustment.  This board plays a vital role in our community by ensuring all cases are reviewed fairly and efficiently.  Promptly filling these openings helps us maintain a complete board to best serve applicants. The Zoning Board of Adjustment meets on the first Tuesday of each month, starting at 7:00 pm (unless otherwise noted), at the Municipal Center.  If there are no cases, then the Board doesn’t meet.  Interested in making an impact?  Fill out this application and return it to the Planning Dept. or submit it to planning@strathamnh.gov.  We’d love to have you onboard!

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Vanessa Price, Director of Planning and Building, via email at VPrice@Strathamnh.gov or by phone at 603-772-7391, ext. 147.

ASSESSING - DATA VERIFICATION

The Town of Stratham’s contracted assessing company, Whitney Consulting Group, will be conducting data verification for building permits, recent sales, and other property information throughout the town over the next few months.  This process will involve outdoor measurements of properties as well as indoor verification of home details such as bedrooms, bathrooms, finished areas, and other relevant information.  Representatives from Whitney Consulting Group will carry proper identification and will strive to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Your patience and cooperation during this time are greatly appreciated.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Town of Stratham at (603) 772-4741, extension 141.
