After 11 years with the Stratham Department of Public Works, Chuck Perkins is retiring. Since joining the DPW in 2014, Chuck has been a dedicated member of the team, always ready to lend a hand (and share a good story or two). His hard work, good humor, and easy conversation have made him a valued coworker and friend.
We thank Chuck for his service to the community and wish him all the best in a well-earned retirement.
On Monday, September 8, the Stratham Historical Society and the Wiggin Memorial Library will hold a program by Portsmouth historian J. Dennis Robinson titled "1623: The Untold Story of New Hampshire's Founding Family", based on his recent book 1623: Pilgrims, Pipe Dreams, Politics and the Founding of New Hampshire. If you have even the mildest interest in NH history, please join us in the Sewall Room in the Stratham Municipal Center at 7:00pm. This program is supported by NH Humanities.
The Town of Stratham completed a Septic System Vulnerability Assessment with FB Environmental Associates and the Piscataqua Regional Estuaries Partnership to inventory septic systems and identify at-risk areas in a select area of the town. A public outreach event will be held September 18, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Hutton Room at the Municipal Center, 10 Bunker Hill Avenue to present the completed assessment. The event will also be held virtually on Microsoft Teams. To attend virtually, please contact the Planning Office at planning@strathamnh.gov to request the link. Hi Stratham,
I wanted to take moment to remind park users of some important rules at Stratham Hill Park.
Dog Leash Requirement on Town Property (Green Area on the Map)
Please remember to keep your dog on a leash in the parking lots (including the Jack Rabbit Lot), and community areas near the playgrounds and pavilions. Chapter 1-12 - Animal Control at Stratham Hill Park
Dog Leash Requirement on Private Property (Tan Area on the Map)
Believe it or not, most of the trail system at the park is privately owned. For a variety of reasons, the landowners have decided to restrict access of these trails to those who have their dogs on a leash. Entering private property with your dog off leash is considered trespassing. Please help keep these trails open by respecting the landowners’ wishes! RSA 635:2 Criminal Trespass
Mountain Bikers Utilizing the Trails
If you are biking the trails, please make sure you are operating safely and with due regard to other park users. I have received numerous complaints of people getting hit or almost hit by bikers that are acting recklessly. Make sure to slow down when visibility is limited on the narrow sections of trails.
Part of my job is to ensure that everybody can continue to use the park safely. These are just a couple reminders that will help accomplish that goal. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please reach out to me by email: rguerette@strathampd.org.
Thanks everyone, hope to see you out there!
