ASSESSORS IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD Notice to Stratham Residents The Town of Stratham Assessing Department and its contracted assessing firm, Whitney Consulting Group, will be conducting property data verification throughout the community during the summer months. As part of this process, representatives may be reviewing property records, verifying property characteristics, and updating photographs of homes and other structures to ensure assessment records remain accurate and up to date. Residents may notice assessors driving through neighborhoods, taking exterior photographs, and verifying property information. In some cases, additional information may be requested, and interior inspections may be conducted when necessary. Please do not be alarmed if you see assessors in your neighborhood. We appreciate your cooperation and assistance as we work to maintain accurate property records for the Town of Stratham. Thank you for your cooperation.
NEWS FROM WIGGIN MEMORIAL LIBRARY The library will be closed all day on Tuesday, June 16th for a staff development day. Please plan accordingly.
The Library's Strategic Planning Committee is again seeking input, this time by offering a brief community survey which can be completed online here. We will also have print copies of the survey available at the library and in the Town Hall lobby. We are looking for feedback from as many people as possible, including those of you who may not use the library regularly, if at all. Please submit your responses by July 25th.
We are very excited to announce that Wiggin Memorial Library, Weeks Public Library in Greenland and Lane Memorial Library in Hampton are forming a consortium! What is a consortium? It's when libraries pool their resources to better serve their communities. In this case, our consortium, which will be known as CORAL (Consortium of Rockingham Area Libraries), will share many of its library collections among our three communities, exponentially increasing the materials available to all its cardholders! The consortium is slated to officially start on July 8th, so stay tuned for more announcements both here and in the library newsletter, fondly known as The Memo. Subscribe to The Memo here.
A COMMUNITY CONVERSATION ABOUT PFAS: WASTEWATER, BIOSOLIDS AND HOW TO REDUCE RISKS 5:30 - 7:00pm, Tuesday, June 16th at the Great Bay NERR, Greenland. PROPERTY FRAUD ALERT Rockingham County Registry of Deeds is advocating that property owners sign up for this free service. Property Fraud Alert is an online subscription service offered to the public that allows them to have their name monitored within the Recorder's office in order to track possible fraudulent recordings that affect their property. The threat of mortgage fraud and identity theft crimes continue to rise, and all too often victims of these types of fraudulent activities are unaware their homes or identity have been stolen. While Property Fraud Alert does not prevent fraud from happening, it provides an early warning system for property owners to take appropriate actions should they determine possible fraudulent activity has taken place. Click here to sign up.
