STRATHAM POLICE RECEIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT ACCREDITATION COMMISSION CERTIFICATION

Governor Kelly Ayotte formally presented the Stratham Police Department with the Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (LEAC) certification at a ceremony on Monday, July 28, at the New Hampshire State House—making it the third police department in New Hampshire to achieve this distinction, and the first under the newly enacted law.

“This LEAC certification is not just a milestone for Stratham—it’s a clear reflection of the values we uphold as a state,” said Governor Ayotte. “The LEAC program represents New Hampshire’s commitment to excellence in law enforcement. I commend Chief Anthony King and the entire Stratham Police Department for meeting the highest standards and for their unwavering dedication to serving with integrity and professionalism.”

Governor Ayotte recently signed HB 777 into law a bill establishing the LEAC as a permanent state entity, strengthening New Hampshire’s commitment to professional standards, accountability, and community trust in policing.  LEAC was originally established by executive order in 2022, but its new legislative foundation ensures the program’s long-term role in public safety policy.

Stratham now joins the Derry and Bow Police Departments as one of only three LEAC-certified agencies in New Hampshire. The certification process includes a comprehensive review of department policies, training, operations, and community interaction practices.

STRATHAM HILL PARK HABITAT PROJECT UPDATE

Seed mixWe’re excited to share that the wildlife habitat project at Stratham Hill Park is coming along beautifully!  The conservation seed mix is growing in nicely.  Take a look at the fresh grass and emerging wildflowers in the latest progress photos.

This soft edging initiative helps create important microhabitats for local wildlife, supporting pollinators, birds, and other native species.  Thanks to the raw compost from the Transfer Station and a bit of power rake magic, the area is well on its way to becoming a thriving, sustainable space for nature and our community to enjoy.

Stay tuned for more updates as the season continues to bloom!
