Part-Time Teen Program Coordinator
(Pilot Position – FY 2026)
The Town of Stratham Parks & Recreation Department is seeking an energetic, organized, and community-minded individual to serve as our Part-Time Teen Program Coordinator.
This is an exciting opportunity to help launch and shape new recreation opportunities for Stratham youth in grades 6–12. The Teen Program Coordinator will design and lead engaging after-school and weekend programming that provides local teens with safe, structured, and fun recreational experiences.
This is a one-year pilot position with the opportunity to help build a lasting program that strengthens youth engagement and community connection.
Position Details
- Position Type: Part-Time
- Hours: Approximately 16 hours per week
- Schedule:
- Two weekdays: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- One weekend day per month: Full-day trip/program
- Compensation: Hourly rate commensurate with experience
- Location: Stratham Municipal Center and off-site program destinations
- Reports To: Director of Parks & Recreation
Primary Responsibilities
The Teen Program Coordinator will:
- Develop and implement after-school, evening, and weekend recreational programming for teens in grades 6–12
- Plan, organize, and supervise activities and trips
- Coordinate transportation using Town vehicles
- Pick up participants at Cooperative Middle School and supervise until parent pickup
- Plan monthly off-site excursions
- Manage program scheduling, registration coordination, supply purchasing, and trip logistics
- Build partnerships with SAU 16, local organizations, and community resources
- Foster leadership and volunteer opportunities for middle and high school students
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants
- Track participation and provide program feedback for pilot evaluation

- Indoor rock climbing
- Mountain bike adventures and rail trail expeditions
- Local and regional hiking trips
- Kayaking excursions
- Ice skating

- Bowling
- Arcade destinations
- Other teen-focused recreational experiences
Weekly Schedule Example
Weekday Programming (2 days/week)
1:00–2:00 PM
Program planning, scheduling, shopping, and logistics
2:15 PM
Participant pickup at Cooperative Middle School
2:30–5:00 PM
Program activity
5:00 PM
Parent pickup at Stratham Municipal Center
Monthly Weekend Trip (1 day/month)
8:30 AM – Drop-off at Municipal Center
Day-long off-site excursion
4:30 PM – Return for parent pickup
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
- Experience working with middle and/or high school-aged youth
- Background in recreation, education, youth development, outdoor leadership, or related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to independently plan and supervise programs
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate a Town van (training provided if needed)
