MINUTES FOR STRATHAM ENERGY COMMISSION MEETING
Tuesday –April 9th, 2019
Meeting held at the Stratham Municipal Center

 Committee Members:

7:00 PM Call to order

1.)    Approve Meeting minutes from March 12, 2019

2.)    Update on Lighting Project

-First in Unitil territory to convert LED
-installed on 4/5.
-38 total fixtures throughout town.
-10 year warranty
-pay net book value over 60 months through unitil bills so all lights now owned by town.
-Exeter project is scheduled next.

3.)    Gerry Holly –Aggregation vs Live Bid
-Energy Auction House - Local Resident
-fixed rate bid with Town accounts
-brokerage firm to evaluate town pricing options vs Unitil rates.
-could bundle all accounts or select a few.
-Winnesquam is a current customer if a reference is needed.

4.)    Henry Herndon -  Clean Energy NH

-member based organization, 400 individuals, 100 businesses, 16 towns and growing.
-renewable and efficiency supported businesses
-municipal members started in January
-connecting various energy committees
-policy work supporting how towns benefit through energy legislation
-Host annual local energy solutions conference - largest offering to town committees
-interest from energy committees in the seacoast are to build a regional "Hub"
-model "ordinances" to utilize if needed
-David asked if Henry could inquire about solar design professionals to investigate snow sheeting AND fire protection ordinances.
-portfolio manager support for utility billing.
-policy working groups on issues dealing with municipal energy issues, including potential to aggregate town buildings with residential power contracts
-2 passes for the annual conference in November.

5.)    Rockingham Planning Commission - MOU
-MOU expires 12/31 and would start whenever accepted
-RPC acts as broker for town and any other members in the RPC
-terms offered by winning vendor chosen by 2/3 of RPC members
-approved unanimously to join the RPC initiative.
-David to discuss with SMS if interested.
-Stratham already aggregates with county for heating oil and with the Lamprey Coop for municipal solid waste.
-Lots of success from the same initiative in the Nashua region.

6.)    Solar Update @ Stratham PD
-no updates
