PARKS & RECREATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR
The Town of Stratham, New Hampshire (population 7,700) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as its Programming Coordinator for the Parks and Recreation Department. This multi-faceted full-time position (40 hours per week) includes both administrative support for the Parks and Recreation Department and hands on programming events and execution of a diverse offering of recreation program for the residents of the Town of Stratham. The Program Coordinator has a hands-on role in managing the annual programs and events offered by the Department. Nights and weekend work is required for this position. 

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Interviews are scheduled to start the week of May 23rd.

PLANNING PROJECT ASSISTANT
The Town of Stratham, New Hampshire (population 7,700) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as its Planning Project Assistant. This multi-faceted part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) includes both administrative support for the Stratham Land Use Departments and assistance and coordination in advancing community planning and land use projects. The selected candidate will process and file land use applications, direct public inquiries related to land use issues or pending applications, and maintain town records and tracking software. Approximately 50 percent of the position will involve working with the Town Planner to advance community planning and master planning projects, including those related to zoning and land uses, transportation, economic development, and open space planning and recreation. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to plan his or her hours in coordination with the Town Planner. DEPARTMENT:  PUBLIC WORKS
POSITION: DPW CREW LEAD – GROUNDS MAINTENANCE
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: FULL-TIME
WAGE: $22.75 - $25.00 per hour depending on qualifications and/or experience.

DESCRIPTION: The Town of Stratham is seeking a qualified team member to drive production in the field of grounds maintenance.  Candidate shall possess experience and skills associated with care and maintenance of landscaping plantings, turf grass and irrigation systems.  This working lead will work with crew each day providing field supervision and is responsible for work pacing and leverage of production.  Outside of growing season this position supports winter maintenance of municipal property and roadways. Successful candidate should possess experience operating dump trucks, front-end loader, mowing equipment, chainsaws, string trimmers and various power tools.  Ability to trouble shoot and repair irrigation and basic plumbing required.  NH applicators license preferred but not required.  

SUPERVISION: Immediate supervisor shall be the Director of Public Works.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a High School diploma/G.E.D.
  • Possess or obtain within 6-months of employment a CDL-B with air brake endorsement.
  • Able to respond to emergent issues within forty-five minutes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The position requires a person to regularly lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; to occasionally lift and carry objects in excess of 50 pounds with or without the assistance of others; to have a full range of movement for reaching, climbing, and stooping; dexterity to operate standard construction equipment and hand tools in a variety of weather conditions; ability to drive a motor vehicle and pass the medical requirements for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL); cognitive and sensory ability to effectively communicate with supervisor and co-workers and to observe general surroundings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs routine maintenance tasks; operates lawn care equipment, and power tools, cuts and processes brush, repairs and maintains irrigation plumbing, fences, walkways and occasionally performs basic carpentry.

Inspects and performs basic maintenance of fleet equipment; washing, greasing, painting and basic repairs and maintenance as needed.

Performs traffic control, shovels, and rakes and operates equipment in or near roadway safely.

Responds to emergent winter maintenance operations, operates trucks equipped with plow and wing plows, deicing equipment, loaders, snowblowers and hand tools as necessary.

Follows oral and or written work orders to successfully maintain, construct or improve specific infrastructure.
