Dear Stratham Resident,
Please see below a list of newsworthy items and other updates related to the Town of Stratham since the last newsletter of February 5th.  In this newsletter, you will learn where the Assessing presentation materials can be found from last night’s Informational night, dates for Town Meeting and School District meeting, as well as updates on our automated curbside collection program and recycling notes!

2019 Statistical Update / Property Revaluation
Last night, Town Assessor Andrea Lewy presented information to the public concerning the 2019 Town-wide Statistical Update of Property Values.  Due to Stratham’s last statistical update being completed in 2014, preparations are underway to update the values for tax year 2019. Ms. Lewy was joined by Chuck Reese, District Supervisor for the Department of Revenue, Municipal and Property Division.   A copy of the presentation can be found here:

Preparations for Town Meeting
See below for key upcoming dates.

  • The Town Warrant and DRA budget form will be posted in the coming days on the Town website and in various locations.
  • A Voter information night hosted by the Wiggin Memorial Library will take place on Tuesday March 5th, please be on the lookout for details.
  • The Town election will take place on Tuesday March 12th (Town election and votes on elected offices, school budgets, and voting on zoning related articles).  Polling hours are 8:00am – 8:00pm.
  • Be on the lookout for the Town Report.  The document should be published and distributed on or about March 1st
  • On Friday March 15th, voting will take place on all other remaining articles related to Town business at the Town Meeting to be held at the Stratham Memorial School beginning at 7:00pm.

Stratham Government 101 Offered at Wiggin Memorial Library
If you missed the recent Stratham Government 101, you are in luck.  A video of the event has been posted on YouTube and is available at your convenience.  The event was held at the Wiggin Memorial Library and sponsored by the Stratham Democrats and open to all.

Transfer Station Reminder
At this time, and through March, the Town’s Transfer station is operating under Winter Hours.  Those hours include:

Winter Hours (December through March):
1st and 3rd Saturdays of the Month – open from 9:00am to 4:00pm

Automated Curbside Collection Program
Many residents have been following along with the Town’s preparations for transitioning to an Automated Curbside Collection program.  The change in collection procedures, which includes the acquisition of a new container system to facilitate automated collection at the curb, will result in costs savings for collection in the future.  This step, will help the Town actively manage overall costs to the Town for its solid waste and recycling program; this includes absorbing changes in recyclable material markets, impacting our disposal costs.  Please be on the lookout for more information in the coming weeks and below for more information about how you can help.

Trash and Recycling Notes:
As a reminder, please have your trash and recycling curbside by 7:00 am.  If your trash or recycling hasn't been picked up on your scheduled day, please call Casella at 603-778-2116.
