Notice Regarding Schedule for Tree Removal in Maple Lane Cemetery (off of Emery Lane)
In the coming weeks, the Cemetery Trustees will be moving forward with significant safety and landscape improvements in Maple Lane Cemetery. The work will include removal of several large Norway spruce trees, thinning and pruning of Maple trees to promote health and undergrowth, and, later in the spring, replanting of new trees. This work follows coordination with the Cemetery Trustees, Select Board, and direct outreach to abutters.   For more information about this topic, please refer to this notice posted last week: https://www.strathamnh.gov/home/news/notice-regarding-schedule-tree-remo...

From the Heritage Commission….
Are you curious about what has been going on at Stratham’s Old (1877) Town Hall?  The Heritage Commission – in coordination with owner/developer Mark Perlowski – is hosting an opportunity to look inside Saturday, March 9, 9-11 AM. All members of the public are welcome.

Bartlett Cushman Purchase and Sale Agreement
In February, the Select Board entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement with Ellen Falk and Bob Daros of North Salem, New York for the sale of the Bartlett-Cushman House at 82 Portsmouth Avenue.  The sale includes the stately Federalist-style home at the corner of Bunker Hill and Portsmouth Avenue; the purchase price is $310,000.  The Town will be retaining over 1.1 acres of land, which lies adjacent to the Municipal Center.  The couple, who have also agreed to interior and exterior historic preservation restrictions, plan to use their home as their primary residence following rehabilitation of the property.  The Stratham Heritage Commission and the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance assisted in the crafting of the easement terms.  A closing is expected the next couple of months.

Reminder: Public Works Director Search
The search for a Public Works Director is ongoing; it is an exciting opportunity to lead a great team and serve as supportive and engaged community.  The Director is responsible for all Highway Operations, Transfer Station/Recycling/Solid Waste Management, Cemeteries, Vehicle, Equipment and Grounds Maintenance, and implementation of wide variety of Public Works projects. This is a highly responsible position expected to provide leadership in delivering high quality services; safety awareness education and training; ongoing evaluation and systems improvement; and team building.
