PRIMARY ELECTION
The State Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at the Municipal Center, 10 Bunker Hill Avenue.  Polls will be open from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm.  In order to promote adequate distancing in the pandemic environment, there will be signs directing voters to different entrances for new voter registration and registered voters.  Please follow the signs and - as allways when entering the Municipal Center - please wear your masks.

PRE-PROCESSING ABSENTEE BALLOTS
As a result of expanded absentee balloting in response to the Coronavirus, the State is permitting Towns to pre-process absentee ballots in order to help manage the volume received.  Absentee ballots processing will also take place on Election Day in accordance with normal procedures under State Election law.  The pre-processing of absentee ballots by the Moderator and his assistants will take place on Friday, September 4th at the Stratham Municipal Center, 10 Bunker Hill Avenue, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.  Observers are welcome to attend this pre-processing session.

CLERKS OFFICE OPEN ON SEPTEMBER 7TH (LABOR DAY) FOR ELECTION TRANSACTIONS
The Town Clerk and her staff will be working 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on Labor Day, Monday, September 7th for election purposes only.  The Office will be accepting voter registrations, absentee ballots, and absentee ballot requests.  The Office will not be processing motor vehicle transactions or any other Town Clerk work - they will only be accepting and processing election transactions.  Their office will be the only office in the Town Municipal Center that will be opened on Labor Day.  The Office will not close between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm on this day.

TOWN OFFICES CLOSED FOR SEPTEMBER 8TH PRIMARY
All departments will be closed on Tuesday, September 8th to allow for a smooth and efficient voting process and to better facilitate distancing practices.  Employees will be working and available by phone and e-mail, however no in-person appointments or service will be available that day.

ABSENTEE BALLOT REMINDER
The State of New Hampshire has taken steps to make absentee balloting more widely available in response to the pandemic.  Residents are now able to request absentee ballots for both the State’s Primary Election and General Election on one form.  Given the nearness of the September 8th primary, we recommend voters come to the Town offices to request and fill-out absentee ballots.  Please visit this link to access the form.
