Banned Books Week - The American Library Association (ALA) celebrates our freedom to read every year during “Banned Books Week.” The ALA keeps track of attempts to remove books from libraries, and this past year they have seen the most attempts since they started compiling the data more than 20 years ago. To help raise awareness of these threats, our library's book groups are reading Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451."  This classic dystopian novel is set in a near future where reading is considered so dangerous, firemen are sent to burn the books and the houses where they are hidden. Ironically, “Fahrenheit 451” itself has been altered, censored, and banned by people who thought it was “inappropriate” for the average high school student.  We invite you to read it with us this month and join us at 110 Grill for a discussion on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 6PM.  Free copies, courtesy of a grant from the NH Humanities, are available.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2022: It's Wiggin Memorial Library Day at Chipotle! When you eat at Chipotle of Stratham on 10/1 between 4 and 8 pm, we'll get a donation of a percentage of their sales! Just use the code XHQ7MKT or just mention the library when you're ordering.  Here's the flyer
