Special Edition Newsletter – Master Plan Joint Session, Wednesday July 17th

The Select Board is issuing a special edition of the newsletter about an important Town initiative: the Master Plan being developed by the Planning Board and the Master Plan Steering Committee.  Please see below for more information.  Also, see a reminder note about the Stratham Fair.

Master Plan Joint Meeting
Wednesday, July 17, 2019—Municipal Center Meeting Room A/B 7:30-9:00

You are invited to attend a joint meeting of the Master Plan Committee and the Planning Board who will be joined by representatives of all Town Boards, Committees and Commissions in reviewing the latest Draft Master Plan.

This public meeting will outline changes in the Plan since the previous joint meeting of the Planning Board and Master Plan Committee in June.  These meetings focusing on the Plan’s drafting follow efforts to collect data, perform outreach, and gain input from town volunteers and residents. 

In New Hampshire, a master plan is a planning document that serves to guide the overall character, physical form and development of a community (RSA 674:2). It describes how, why, where and when to build or rebuild a town. It provides guidance to local officials making decisions on budgets, ordinances, capital improvements, zoning and subdivision matters, and other development-related issues. While the master plan is not a legal document, it does provide the legal basis for zoning and other land use regulations.

The Master Plan provides the foundation and guidance for town policies and regulations for the next 20 years.  Your voice is important.  Let’s continue to work collaboratively on this important plan for Stratham’s future.  Thank you for your support and your participation to date.

Only three days left until the start of the Stratham Fair (July 18th through the 21st).  Discount tickets are available at the Town Clerks office.  Only cash or checks (made out to Stratham Fair) can be accepted.  Close of business 4:00 p.m. Wednesday will be your last chance to purchase them!
