Stratham Town Offices Closing to Public

Guidance issued for how to access services via electronic means and telephone.

Due to concerns and recommendations related to the current public health emergency, the Town of Stratham’s Select Board have approved the following changes in operations and services to take effect beginning at the close of business today (4:00 p.m.) March 17, 2020 through Tuesday March 31, 2020.  Additional changes may be made depending on circumstances, and this time may be extended as the date approaches.  Please check the Town’s website regularly for updates.

Following close of business on March 17th, all municipal buildings including Fire, Police, DPW and the Town Offices (including Library) will be closed to the public.  Land Use Board meetings with scheduled public hearings will move forward at this time unless otherwise noticed.  See “Land Use/Planning” section below for more information. 

Emergency services, Police, Fire, EMS and Public Works functions will continue.  While the Municipal Offices are closed, town staff will continue to be available to serve the public via electronic means and via phone during normal business hours.  At this time, employees will work from the Town Offices.  A summary of service changes and strategies for each function are described below.

CALL 2-1-1: NH Governor Chris Sununu, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, and NH Homeland Security and Emergency Management, announced that 211NH has been mobilized to handle all COVID-19 related calls from New Hampshire residents. All residents with questions or concerns surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak can call 2-1-1.

TOWN ADMINISTRATION

TOWN CLERK/TAX COLLECTOR
Motor Vehicle and dog renewals can be accessed on line at the Town website under the Town Clerk/Tax Collector icon.  Property tax payments may be made online as well. 

For new motor vehicle registrations and transfers please contact the Town Clerk’s office directly for information and direction.

Certified copies of vital records can be obtained through the State of New Hampshire, Division of Vital Records website: http://sos.nh.gov/vital_records.aspx or you may order through the vendor “VitalChek at https://www.vitalchek.com or by calling 1-877-878-8007.  You may also apply in person at 9 Ratification Way (fka/gps: 71 S. Fruit Street), Concord, New Hampshire

TRANSFER STATION
There are no changes to the Town’s Transfer Station hours or operations at this time.

Winter Hours (December through March): 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month 9:00am to 4:00pm

Summer Hours (April through November): Every Saturday 9:00am to 4:00pm

There is no change in curbside collection.

RECREATION
All programs including after-school programs are closed indefinitely.  Senior Community Room at the Municipal Center is closed.

WIGGIN MEMORIAL LIBRARY
The Library is closed indefinitely.

BUILDING INSPECTION
New building permits will be processed electronically.

LAND USE/ PLANNING/ ZONING

Legally-noticed meetings with public hearings on land use applications, are slated to move forward at this time.  This includes tomorrow’s March 18, 2020 Planning Board meeting.  The meeting will be moved to the larger Meeting Room A using an entrance directly off of the parking lot (see signage).
