SEVERE DROUGHT WATER RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT SATURDAY, SEPT. 12TH
As a reminder, in response to the urging of the State of New Hampshire, Stratham has joined over 150 other communities in instituting water restrictions in response to the severe drought conditions in Stratham, Rockingham County and much for the state.  Last week, the Town forecasted the restrictions taking place this Saturday in a dedicated special newsletter with links to resources and more information.  During this drought and until further notice, lawn watering (level 3 restriction) will be prohibited as part of a statewide strategy for preserving groundwater supplies that serve as critical resources for Stratham households and businesses.  All efforts to curb and reduce use of water during this time, will benefit water supplies we all rely on.  The Town has set up a resource page for this topic where updates will be posted.

ELECTION RESULTS & THANK YOU
Tuesday's State Primary Election saw 35% of Stratham's registered voters cast their ballot.  We give special thanks to our various election officials and Town employees who ensured a safe and orderly election once again.  Click here for election results.  Please note, the General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd at the Stratham Memorial School, 39 Gifford Farm Rd.  Polls will be open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

OPEN POSITION - ACCOUNTING & BENEFITS COORDINATOR
The Town is seeking a part-time Accounting & Benefits Coordinator.  To learn more, please visit the Town’s website:  https://www.strathamnh.gov/town-administration/pages/open-positions.  Please share this position announcement with anyone who may be interested in joining the Town’s staff team and serving the residents of Stratham.

THANK YOU STACEY GRELLA
The last day in August, was the last work day of the Police Department Administrative Assistant Stacey Grella.  Stacey has left the Town in order to pursue an opportunity in the private sector after ten dedicated and productive years of service to the Town in the Town Offices as well as Police Department.  Please join us in thanking Stacey for her service, commitment and dedication shown to our community and wishing her luck in her next adventure.

In our next newsletter, we will introduce you to our new Police Department Administrative Assistant.

PICK UP BOOKS OR MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO VISIT THE LIBRARY!
The library is welcoming people in for  browsing by appointment! There is something special about discovering books serendipitously, not knowing what you are looking for until you find it. Appointments are a way for you to enjoy browsing and for the number of people in the building at any one time to be limited. Appointments as of 8/30/2020 are for 30 minutes of browsing and borrowing inside the library.

With multiple browsing appointment times each week, as well as contactless pickup, you have many options to borrow books, audiobooks, and movies and feel comfortable doing so. You can call the library (772-4346) Monday through Friday to find out more about pickup or browsing appointments – and request books or make an appointment. You can also send us an email with questions: library@wigginml.org

Any visits to the library for pickup or appointments require a mask covering nose and mouth, and social distancing. Other requirements can be found on the library’s website (library.strathamnh.gov) or by calling us (772-4346).
