Dear Town Residents,
We are now just a few days away from our 2020 Town Meeting. This message is intended to provide a final update and reminder about available resources for learning about this Town Meeting. Please see below (including an important note about weather):
In case you missed it:
- here is the information about how the meeting will take place (June 30th newsletter)
- here you can learn about the proposed amendments from Articles 9, 10, & 11 (July 3rd newsletter)
- here you can view a Supplemental Voter Information Guide, that provides information on each article to be voted on, links to more information (updated to reflect proposed amendments).
- here you can learn more about Articles 14 and 15 and Gateway Implementation.
You can find a Town Meeting 2020 landing page on our website (see black tab at the top), where you can find links to the information above and more.
A couple of additional notes:
- It may rain on our meeting. Please dress accordingly and bring umbrellas.
- Please remember your masks, if you forget, we will have some for you.
- Please remember to bring your own pens or pencils to mark ballots (so we can avoid sharing).
- Town staff will be available to help direct, seat and generally assist you. They will be readily identifiable and we will be on the lookout for ways to help you.
In case of inclement weather
The Select Board and Moderator are closely monitoring the weather for Saturday morning. In the event weather threatens our ability to safely hold this Town Meeting, the Moderator is enabled by law to postpone.
In the event this Meeting is postponed, the Board and Moderator have set Monday, July 13th at 6:30 p.m. (at the Stratham Memorial School, 39 Gifford Farm Road) as the date the Meeting would be postponed to. If Saturday's meeting is postponed, a special newsletter will be sent and messages will be posted on the Town's Facebook page as well as the Town Meeting 2020 tab on the Town's homepage. A message will only be sent out if the Meeting is postponed; please check these locations prior to leaving you home.
We appreciate your attention to the affairs of the Town and the role all of us have as legislators in the Town Meeting form of government. See you at Town Meeting.
Thank you,
Town of Stratham Select Board
Michael Houghton, Chair
Joe Lovejoy, Vice Chair
Allison Knab, Select Board
